　　On June 24, a meeting to promote the "Green Full Xiangyang" initiative was held in Zao Yang City, where the relevant work for the initiative was comprehensively arranged and deployed. City leaders Feng Yanfei, Cheng Jiagang, and He Fei participated in the related activities.

　　The meeting pointed out that this year marks the beginning of the "Green Full Xiangyang" initiative. We must adhere to the principle of "unchanged tasks and unchanged measures," strive to overcome the impact of the pandemic, take proactive responsibility, and actively engage. We should focus on key areas, plan comprehensively, implement in stages, and accelerate the promotion of greening throughout the region. By 2024, the city's forest coverage rate is expected to reach 47%, and the forest stock volume is expected to reach 40 million cubic meters.

　　The meeting required that we grasp the key work points to achieve new breakthroughs in the "Green Full Xiangyang" initiative. We should closely focus on five major ecological projects, accelerate greening through demonstration projects, promote urban greening and quality improvement, carry out rural greening actions, extend corridor greening, and optimize waterway greening. We should coordinate the integrated greening of urban and rural areas, aiming for a greening coverage rate of 40% in urban built-up areas and a proportion of evergreen trees reaching 50%. We need to strengthen the development of the forestry special industry, support greening with industries that enrich the people, and achieve breakthrough development in the cultivation of native tree species seedlings. We aim to develop over 10,000 acres of quality native tree seedling bases in the city within three years, producing over 10 million seedlings annually, and actively explore the integration model of "forestry and tourism." We must adhere to the principle of prioritizing protection, strengthen the quota management of forest land use and the quota management of timber harvesting, and remain highly vigilant against and prevent forest fires and pest diseases that could damage forest resources, ensuring stricter management to guarantee greening.

　　The meeting emphasized that to ensure the timely achievement of the annual and five-year goals of the "Green Full Xiangyang" initiative, all regions must effectively strengthen organizational leadership, earnestly implement the decision of the Municipal People's Congress on promoting the "Green Full Xiangyang" initiative, enhance work measures, take proactive actions, ensure responsibilities are shouldered, and tasks are implemented. We must adhere to planning first and scientific afforestation, actively seek projects, innovate mechanisms, strengthen assessments, rigorously supervise, and solidly promote the effectiveness of the "Green Full Xiangyang" initiative. We must firmly set our target tasks, bravely tackle difficulties, and resolve the issues of "where the land comes from" and "where the money comes from." We should focus on increasing greening of the land, increasing farmers' income, and enhancing the efficiency of village collective economies, actively explore and implement precise policies, tap into the potential of forestry development, and truly turn green mountains and clear waters into mountains of gold and silver.

　　Before the meeting, the participating representatives took a bus to visit and inspect the progress of greening work in Zao Yang City, Xiangzhou District, Dongjin New District, and Laohekou City.
