Measures taken by pressure vessel manufacturers to prevent accidents

Time2024-08-26

The design, manufacturing, installation, and maintenance quality of pressure vessels and their devices must comply with the requirements of national technical regulations and standards.

       1. The design, manufacturing, installation, maintenance, and other quality of pressure vessels and their devices must comply with the relevant national technical regulations and standards.

       2. The safety devices and accessories of pressure vessels must be complete, sensitive, safe, and reliable. Transport vehicles carrying flammable materials must be equipped with reliable static grounding devices. Acetylene cylinders must be equipped with dedicated pressure regulators and flashback arrestors, and safety accessories should be regularly inspected; if any failure is found, they should be replaced in a timely manner.

       3. Strengthen usage management to avoid operational errors, such as overheating, overpressure, overload operation, loss of inspection, loss of maintenance, and failure of safety devices. The body of oxygen cylinders and the cylinder valves must not come into contact with grease or flammable materials. Cylinders that can ignite or explode when in contact with grease or contaminated items, or the media they contain, must not be transported together or stored in the same room. Gas cylinders that are prone to polymerization reactions must have specified storage periods.

       4. Strengthen the maintenance of pressure vessels. The vessels should be in good condition during operation. Regular inspections and safety checks can detect and address defects in the vessels early.

       5. Operators should prepare the following before operation: dress according to regulations and bring all necessary tools; carefully check the pressure vessels, safety devices, pumps, and the completeness of various equipment and instrument accessories in the process flow, including inlet and outlet pipelines, valves, and electrical equipment; check the cleanliness of the work area; test the flexibility of each valve and check the status of system valve switches. Operators must confirmpressure vesselsand equipment are in normal operation before starting the system.

       6. Pressure vessel operators must hold a certificate after passing training and examinations. During operation, they must strictly adhere to safety operating procedures and job responsibilities.
