What conditions must a pressure vessel manufacturer meet to be considered a special equipment?

Time2024-09-12

According to the definitions in the appendix of the Special Equipment Inspection Regulations, a pressure vessel refers to a closed device that holds gas or liquid and bears pressure. Its scope is defined as a fixed or mobile container for gas, liquefied gas, and liquids with a working temperature greater than or equal to the standard boiling point, where the working pressure is greater than or equal to 0.1 MPa (gauge pressure) and the product of pressure and volume is greater than or equal to 2.5 MPa•L; and for gas, liquefied gas, and liquids with a nominal working pressure greater than or equal to 0.2 MPa (gauge pressure) and the product of pressure and volume greater than or equal to 1.0 MPa•L, where the standard boiling point is equal to or lower than 60°C, such as gas cylinders and oxygen chambers.

Pressure vessels are classified as special equipment. Special equipment involves life safety and includes high-risk boilers, pressure vessels, pressure pipelines, elevators, lifting machinery, passenger ropeways, large amusement facilities, and special motor vehicles within the premises. Among them, boilers, pressure vessels, and pressure pipelines are classified as pressure-bearing special equipment; elevators, lifting machinery, passenger ropeways, and large amusement facilities are classified as electromechanical special equipment. Different regulations are established for the design and manufacturing processes of each category of pressure vessels, as well as for inspection items, content, and methods. A safety quality licensing system for imported goods has been implemented for pressure vessels, and goods without an import safety quality license are not allowed to be imported. Pressure vessels have a wide range of applications and play an important role in many sectors, including industry, civil use, military industry, and various fields of scientific research.
